The US on responding to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's victory in Parliament, said it looked forward to continuing to work with India on the civil nuclear deal and further strengthening the strategic partnership. "We look forward to continuing to work with Prime Minister Singh's government on strengthening our strategic partnership with India and working on a number of important bilateral issues including a US-India civilian nuclear agreement," Gordon Johndroe, Spokesman of the National Security Council, said.

Johndroe's comments came soon after the UPA government won the trust vote in the Parliament over the Indo-US nuclear deal which was signed by Singh and US President George W Bush in June 2005.
