Indian Cricket master blaster Sachin Tendulkar has been named as one of the most Powerful People in Sports (Global) by American magazine BusinessWeek. But, Lalit Modi who managed the Indian Premier League as Chairman and Commissioner is ahead of Master Blaster!

October 13, 2008 issue of the BusinessWeek puts cricket's living legend Sachin Tendulkar at 23rd Rank out of 25 Most Powerful People in Sports outside America. Still, Sachin is behind Mr Lalit Modi, who ranked 19th.

Mr Modi's Power Ranking shows the success of IPL. Notably, BCCL was successful with Indian Premier League early this year. Eight different teams played against each other with few players outside India.

BusinessWeek puts Joseph Blatter who is the president of FIFA, global football body, as number one powerful player in sports.  Sexy tennis super star Maria Sharapova's rank is 25th.
