In a significant development and much needed decision making, the fathers of two boys, studying in the Gurukul of religious leader Asaram, whose bodies were found in mysterious circumstances on the banks of Sabarmati river, broke their indefinite fast after Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi promised a fair probe into the death.

The issue of the death of two cousins and directionless probe by the police in the case had led to violent protest in the city. Fathers of the two boys Dipesh and Abhishek were on fast since last week. Family members of the two boys went to Modi's residence in Gandhinagar where he promised them that the state will conduct fair probe in the case. He requested Praffulbhai Vaghela and Shantibhai Vaghela to break their fast which they agreed to.

The state government later handed over the inquiry to CID (crime). Modi said that the state government will find out the truth behind the death and hunt the culprits.

Bodies of two boys studying in residential Gurukul of religious leader Asaram, were found in decomposed state from the banks of river Sabarmati. They were reported missing from the ashram two days before their bodies were found.
