Good
sleep is very necessary for health. It will make you fresh on the
next day. It will keep your skin glowing. Nothing is more frustrating
than not being able to sleep. Tossing and turning. Your mind is
racing, going over everything that happened today. Night noises keep
you awake. In this situation what can you do? We have given few tips
for better sleep.
Sleep only when you feel sleepy:
- This reduces the time you are awake in bed.
Avoid
taking alcohol, nicotine: - Alcohol, nicotine or other drugs
except meditation before at least 4-6 hours of bedtime. As these
substances primarily let you feel asleep but the whole night you
can’t sleep quiet and sleep will interrupted.
Eat
light snack before bedtime: - Don’t
overeat before bedtime. You should take your dinner at least before 1
hour of bedtime.
Make
a regular schedule of sleeping: - Make a proper schedule of
sleeping. You should go to bed at fixed time. Moreover, sleeping on
your side instead of your back will definitely stop snoring for you
as it positions the body for a good sleep. Prepare the surroundings
clean without any congestion while you are asleep.
No
nap in between: -
Napping can only make matters worse if you usually have problems
falling asleep. If you do nap, keep it short. A brief 15-20-minute
snooze about eight hours after you get up in the morning can actually
be rejuvenating.
Exercise:
- Keeping fit is always a good idea and will also provide
the snorer a release of energy, potentially making him or her tired
enough to get a full night’s deep sleep. But the exercise course should be finished before 3-4
hours of the bedtime.
Take
a hot bath before bedtime: - A hot bath will raise your body
temperature, but it is the drop in body temperature that may leave
you feeling sleepy. But it should be taking before 1 hour of the
bedtime.
Make
sure your bed and bedroom are quiet and comfortable: - A hot room
can be uncomfortable. A cooler room along with enough blankets to
stay warm is recommended. If light in the early morning bothers you,
get a blackout shade or wear a slumber mask.
Avoid
watching TV, eating, and discussing emotional issues in bed.
The bed should be used for sleep and sex only. If not, you can end up
associating the bed with distracting activities that could make it
difficult for you to fall asleep.
Listen
light music or read something: - Listening light music will make
your mind cool and you will fall in to sleep. The same will apply to
the reading also.
