Tuvar Dal Khichadi

Mix rice and tuvar Dal. Wash and clean it. Soak it for 30 minutes in a 3 cup of water.

  • ¼ cup tuvar Dal
  • 1 cup rice
  • 1 tsp oil
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • ¼ tsp mustard seed
  • Pinch of asafoetida
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 2-3 no. clove
  • few  Peanuts  
 
 
  1. Mix rice and tuvar Dal. Wash and clean it. Soak it for 30 minutes in a 3 cup of water.
  2. Heat the oil in a pan and add mustard seed. Wait till spluttering; add clove and asafoetida in it.
  3. Add turmeric and red chili powder to it and spread it on the mixture of khichadi.
  4. Cook it in to a pressure cooker till 3 whistles. Let it cool for 15 minutes.
  5. Open the cooker and serve the khichadi with gujarati-kadhi or buttermilk and roasted papad.
