The electricity bill amount is too much this time?? Don’t worry. We have some tips to save electricity for you.

  1. Make minimum use of bulbs or tube lights during daytime. And use natural light.
  2. Switch off lights and fans when you are out of room or house. Reduce high wattage bulbs where less light is needed.
  3. Avoid unnecessary decoration of lights.
  4. In air conditioned buildings and houses, keep the doors and windows close to save electricity. Clean A.C. filter regularly.
  5. Use electronic regulators in fans, use 36-watt thin tube light instead of 40-watt tube light.
  6. Do not use lamp fittings to tie wires or ropes to dry cloths.
  7. Replace fuse bulb after switch is off.
  8. Defrost the fridge once ice gets more then ¼” thick. Regular defrosting reduces power consumption. Place the fridge with its coils at distance from wall so that the coils can have sufficient space to breathe. Do place the refrigerator near any heat source.
  9. Use of light color on walls reduces lighting requirement
  10. Make home safe for children against electrical hazards. Install plastic protective caps on plug points.
  11. Electricity and water can be a deadly combination Always remember that water and electricity must never mix.
  12. Don’t forget to switch off the main switch even if you have switched off the equipment with the remote like Television or Home theatre system.
  13. Shut your Air conditioner or Microwave when ever it is not needed.
  14. Run your washing machine or dryer with full loads. Drying smaller loads uses just as much energy and overloading will increase drying time.
  15. Computers use up to 70% less electricity when you put them in sleep mode. So don’t use screen savers.
  16. Devices such as TV sets, VCRs, DVD players and mobile chargers eat up maximum power, even on standby.
  17. You can also use the power saving kits which are available which can reduce the power consumption till 20-25%.
