Punjabi language is one of the most popular languages in Canada. After English, French and Chinese Punjabi is the fourth highest language which is spoken in Canada. English and French is the official language here and other top 5 authorised languages include Chinese, Punjabi, Spanish, Italian and Arabian languages.

In Canada according to the population survey, about 2.6% people speak Chinese whereas with 0.8% Punjabi comes fourth according to the records of survey. 0.6% people speak Italian and 0.5% Arabian. It’s true that now Canada is becoming a global bouquet and there has been noticed a loss in people speaking its local Canadian language. Moreover the ratio is still falling down.

Again, according to the survey Urdu stands 11th in the most commonly spoken languages whereas Tamil is 17th and Gujarati is 19th. Here almost 98.5% people speak English or French. Whereas  in Canada 3.04% people are of Indian origin out of the total population. And out of all Indians, comparatively Punjabis are more.
