Pakistani People's Party - the pakistani opposition
party has released Benazir Bhutto's handwritten will to the public. In it Bhutto
has clearly named her husband Asif Ali Zardari as her political heir. The other
parties had some problem with that so the party released the will publicly to
prove the fact.
The will dated on October 16, two days before she returned
from exile says that " I fear for Pakistan's future in the face of extremism and
dictatorship". The will also suggests that her husband will lead the party in
the interim period until the party people and of course Zardari dicide what is
best for the country and party. She also praise him by saying that he is a man
of courage and honour in the will. The will was unveiled at the Bhutto's
residence in southern Pakistan. The party has already named Zardari and
Bilawal as co-chairmen three days later, the will was read out to the senior
party members but not in public.
The will says that "Zardari spent 11 and half years in prison
without bending despite torture. He has the political stature to keep our party
united."
